Committee lauds CM, works minister for road projects

Imphal, October 03 2024: Mahadev to Tolloi Road Development Committee has expressed gratitude to chief minister N Biren and works minister Govindas Konthoujam for their commitment to the development of Mahadev to Tolloi Road.

In statement, Committee chairman Yangsing Raleng recalled that on December 20, 2021, chief minister Biren visited LM Block, the western region of Ukhrul district, to assess developmental'needs, following which, on July 4, 2022, works minister Govindas toured and upgraded the Mahadev-Tolloi Road to a state highway.

Subsequently road repairs were initiated facilitating operation of service by Manipur State Transport in the region.

Stating that the said road is presently in the process of upgrade to a National Highway which will significantly enhance connectivity in the region, the chairman informed that within the LM Block, 10 Inter Village Road (IVR) projects included in the work programme of the Public Works Department for better connectivity are making notable progress.

Expressing delight that the works minister has also sanctioned improvement of the Mahadev-Tolloi to Thoubal River (Ringui) road stretch, Mahadev-Tolloi to LM Block via Raisu and LM Block to Aphung, he urged the minister to execute the same at the earliest possible.
