SSA School Uniforms distributed

Imphal, September 03 2014: Free school uniforms under the scheme of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) were distributed to the students of Chingdompok Junior High school in Heirok part-II in Heirok assembly constituency on Monday last.

During the programme held at Chingdompok Junior High school, T.Bikomdas, Deputy Inspector of Schools (Zone-3), Thoubal district; Headmistress of the school L.Khomei Devi and Assistant Teacher Th.Ramananda were the Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.

In his speech, Bikomdas stated that the conditions of government schools have considerably improved under the strict guidance of Education Minister M.Okendra.

The number of enrolment in government schools has also increased, he added while admitting problem of the shortage of teachers in some schools of the state.

He also appealed to the people to extend cooperation for improvement of government schools.

While expressing satisfaction over the distribution of free uniforms to the students, Headmistress Khomei pointed out that the school is having classes from I to V only due to shortage of teachers, even though the government upgraded the school to the level of junior high school.

She also drew the attention of the government towards redressing the grievances of the school.
