Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur and State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Manipur jointly organized World Autism Awareness Day �cum- One Day Conference of Right of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 under the theme "Towards Autonomy and Self Determination" at Langmeidong Maning Mayai Leikai Community Hall.

Sec.School attended the function as Chief Guest, President and Guests of honours respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.R.K Kumarjit Singh said April 2 of every year is observed as World Autism Awareness Day encouraging member state of Untied Nation to take measures for raising awareness about children with autism throughout the world.
The observance was designated by the United Nation General Assembly resolution.
The day of observance was passed on the year 2007 and adopted on the same year.
Autism disorder is mainly characterized by weaknesses in ability such as repetitive behaviour in speech and communication disabilities, absenteeism from social functions and improper concentration on contact eye during conversation.
This asymptomatic disability is very difficult to understand but tends to appear between the years of 2 to 3 years of age.
The rate of suffering autism is higher than male comparing to female.
L.Dhaneshor Singh said that the differently nature of ability to categories a persons of being disability is increase from the 7 to 21 by amending in the parliament recently which include autism.
Those who want to get the benefits of differently schemes of government need to get the different schemes of government need to get the disability certificate from the concern authority.
There is provision to get disability certificate from the Primary Health Centre but there may raise the certain problems due to absence of specialist doctors to determine physical disability.
