Imphal, January 03 2018:
Despite numerous assurances and promises by the BJP led State Government to improve the roads in and around Imphal area after the rainy season, many roads still remain neglected, including the Lamphel road stretch connecting RIMS nurses quarters to Imphal West DC complex.
The road stretch, which is around half a kilometre long, is located some 3 kilometres away from the heart of the State capital within Uripok Assembly Constituency of Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar.
The said road stretch has been in a deplorable condition for the past many years and it has become worse day by day due to the negligence of the State Government as well as the department concerned which have failed to take up any kind of repairing/construction works of the said road.
The road is filled with uncountable numbers of large potholes and to avoid such pathetic road conditions, many Government employees often take other alternate routes to their respective offices.
It may be mentioned that Co-operative Management, District Industries Centres and many other Government offices are also located along the said road.
