IGAR (S) nabs UG cadres

Imphal, September 01 2014: Based on specific intelligence regarding movement of a UG cadre, troops of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area of Mayai Keithel and apprehended one KYKL cadre on 30 Aug 2014 .

According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), the apprehendee was identified as No 2047, SS Cpl Langam Khamba Singh alias sadananda alias Deva, aged 27 yrs, S/o Late Achou Singh, resident of Ningel.

One Mobile phone and two medical prescription forms of dept of physical medicine and rehabilitation were recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Yairipok Police station.

In another operation launched in Poorompat area based on specific intelligence provided by 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) to Imphal East Police Commandos, two KYKL OGWs were apprehended on 28 Aug 2014 .

The apprehendees were identified as Saograkpham Surjit, aged 41 yrs, S/o S Yaima Singh, resident of Singjamei Saokrakpham, Dist Thoubal and Keisham Bimol alias Ibochou, aged 33 yrs, S/o K Ningthemjao Singh, resident of Singjamei Makha Sorokhaibam, Dist Thoubal.

The apprehendees were handed over to the Porompat Police station.

Furthermore, based on specific intelligence provided by 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) to Imphal East Police Commandos, launched an operation in the general area of Jiri Parking of Thoubal Bazar and it led to apprehension of one more KYKL cadre on 29 Aug 2014 .

The apprehendee was identified as Laishram Gandhi alias meitei, aged 28 yrs, S/o Late Rajantombi Meitei, resident of Wangoi Mamang Sabalnongyai Khongbal.

One Mobile Phone with two Sim cards was recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee alongwith the recovered item has been handed over to the Imphal West police station, PRO informed.
