Awareness prog on ESIC organised

Senapati, July 31 2024: Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ES1C), North Eastern Region (NER), Regional Office Guwahati organised an awareness programme on ESIC benefits at Senapati town on Wednesday.

The awareness programme was conducted by ESIC Guwahati assistant director Samuel Nelson and Dr Pairson PM (IMP Senapati) with focus on guiding the employers about the process of registering online of eligible employees and how eligible registered employees/insured person (IP) can avail the benefits provided in the ESI Act, 1948 (as amended) .

The programme highlighted various benefits like sickness benefit (cash), extended sickness benefit (cash), medical benefit, funeral expenses, temporary/permanent employment injury/disablement benefit, dependants' benefit in the form of pension for dependants on death of insured person (IP) during employment, maternity benefit (cash), unemployment allowance under 'Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana (RGSKY)', medical treatment benefit for permanent disablement (PDB) and access to Medical Studies (MBBS program, etc) for IP children.

In a recent gazette notification, the Ministry of Labour and Employment extended the ESI Scheme in all the, areas of Bishnupur, Senapati, Ukhrul, Kang pokpi, Churachandpur and Thoubal districts with effect from August 1, 2024 .
