Tamenglong, Noney beneficiaries join interaction with PM

Joining the nationwide interaction programme 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan', district administration of Tamenglong organised a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the beneficiaries of different welfare schemes of the government on Tuesday.
Speaking at the programme as chief guest, water resources minister Awangbow Newmai stressed that everyone should be very happy and welcome such interaction programme initiated by the Prime Minister, as it directly deals with the beneficiaries and the public.
Being one of the most backward districts, Tamenglong always get the double benefits of all the government schemes compared to other districts of Manipur, he said and pointed out that Tamenglong was the first district where MNREGA was implemented.
An interactive session between the government officials and the public along with distribution of benefits to beneficiaries of schemes was also conducted as part of the event.
After the interaction programme, minister Awangbow chaired a meeting with district level officers (DLOs) at Multipurpose Hall, Lower Ground Tamenglong district headquarters.
During the meeting, he urged all the DLOs present to share their requirements, needs and grievances to him, so that he can present the matter directly to the chief minister.
Awangbow Newmai also called upon the DLOs to remain stationed at their respective offices so that the public can avail any kind of information from the government offices.
"As strict instructions have been given from the CM Office, I will make surprise visit in all the government offices and if any officials are found absent strict action will be taken against absentee officials", Awangbow cautioned.
Several government officials also shared their grievances regarding office buildings, vehicles and quarters at the meet.
Meanwhile, Noney district administration facilitated the interaction programme of Prime Minister with the beneficiaries of various wel fare schemes at Multipurpose Hall, Longmai Part -3 on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by Hill Areas Committee chairman Dinganglung Gangmei alias Dipu as chief guest, while Noney deputy commissioner Haulianlal Guite presided over the function in the presence of SP M Gopaldas and ADM Stiff Khapudang.
As part of the event, ben eficiaries of various welfare schemes shared their experiences and thanked the government for providing benefits of the schemes.
Films on various schemes were also screened at the occasion.
The programme was also participated by DLOs, village authority leaders, CSOs leaders and officials of various departments.
