Imphal, January 31 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda has asserted that it will not be a difficult task for the party to achieve its target of getting 40 seats in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Sharda stated this during the flag hoisting ceremony of Ngamthang Haokip, who will contest the election from Saitu assembly constituency as the candidate of BJP.
Addressing the gathering at the ceremony held at Ngamthang Haokip 's Chassad Avenue residence near Sanjenthong on Monday, A Sharda said that the main objective of BJP is to form the government again and the party is targeting 40 plus seats in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
She then appealed to party workers to work hard and campaign vigorously to achieve this target.
A Sharda, who attended the ceremony as chief guest, further said that no political party brought real development even after completion of 75 years of India's independence but it is the BJP government which is bringing development in all sectors and the government is giving special emphasis on improving economy, health, education and social security.
According to Sharda, the CM Biren Singh-led government in the state launched various welfare schemes for the people and has been able to bring uniform development in both hills and valley.
It is right that government is a continuous process but policies and programmes chalked out by former PM AB Vajpayee for the North East and Manipur are being implemented only after 15 years when the government led by PM Modi came, she said, adding that DoNER Ministry was created by AB Vajpayee for the welfare of the people of North East.
Regarding party's target of getting 40 plus seats in the upcoming election, Sharda said that BJP has 29 MLAs at present and hence it would not be a difficult task for the party to reach the 40-seat mark.
In his speech, Ngamthang Haokip said that he is indebted to BJP for keeping faith on him and issuing party ticket for the upcoming election.
Accordingly, he has strengthened his election campaign.
The flag hoisting ceremony was also attended by functionaries of state, district and Mandal units of the party apart from the candidate and his family members, relatives and well-wishers.
