KVK, Cdl organizes exposure trip as part of STRY

Chandel, March 30 2019: As a part of Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) on vermicomposting, an exposure trip was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel.

Dr K Sonamani Singh, ACTO (SWCW) led the team of 32 rural youths from Chandel to several units and farms in which vermicomposting activities were taken up in massive scale.

The participants witnessed the hands-on demonstration of minute details and steps of turning waste into resource.

Later, the highly motivated and inspired youths were shown plots of vegetable farms which had benefitted using vermicompost and are totally organic.

The youths were made aware of the need to stop the bad habit of straw burning in the fields after harvesting.

The youths were also shown the probable avenue of revenue generation through the sale of vermicompost manure.
