BSF DG Daljit Chawdhary visits Sugnu, CCpur

On the second day of his visit to the state, BSF director general Daljit Singh Chawdhary visited company deployment locations at Sugnu in Kakching district, interacted with commanders and troops on the ground and appreciated their relentless efforts and contribution in maintaining security in Manipur.
He reviewed the law and order situation in the strife-torn state and took stock of the operational preparedness of the para-military force in the wake of the recent escalation of violence.
The DG also motivated BSF soldiers to discharge duties with full dedication and utmost professionalism.
During his visit to Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) BSF, Churachandpur, DG Daljit Singh was briefed by IG M & C Frontier and STC BSF Churachandpur Sanjay Kumar Misra on the training facilities available and activities conducted at the STC where the DG also interacted with the available instructional staff of the prestigious training institution.
As a part of his visit, Daljit Singh inaugurated the Narendra Kumar Training Shed, having a capacity to accommodate 800 trainees and dedicated it in honour of constable Narendra Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the nation in the line of duty during his deployment at Moreh town for security duty.
The DG BSF also held a Sainik Sammelan and motivated about 750 trainees present there to not only become good soldiers but also good human beings.
The DG left for New Delhi in the afternoon.
According to a BSF spokesman, DG Daljit, a senior IPS officer, during his two-day tour carried out a comprehensive review of the operational scenario and took stock of the operational preparedness of the force in view of the recent increase of violence in Manipur.
He visited several BSF deployments, talked to the force personnel and applauded their efforts to bring peace in the restive state.
As part of the 60,000 central forces, several battalions of BSF had been deployed in Manipur after the ethnic violence between the Meetei and Kuki-Zo communities broke out in the state, which also shares around 400 km of unfenced border with Myanmar.
BSF's Additional Director General (Eastern Command) Ravi Gandhi, briefed the DG BSF about the prevailing security scenario in Manipur and DG BSF also held discussions with several senior officials including Inspector General, Mizoram and Cachar frontier Sanjay Kumar Misra and Deputy Inspector General, Sector CI (Ops) Manipur on the latest situations of different districts.
