All Machi subdivision link roads in poor shape

While informing that all the roads leading to Machi subdivision headquarters in Tengnoupal district are in poor shape and creating serious inconveniences to the people, Machi village authority has appealed to government to look into the matter and take immediate step for repairing the roads at the earliest.
Being rainy season, the roads from Heirok to Machi through Thabi Keithel arid from Machi to Sita village and then to Khudengthabi have deteriorated so much that they are becoming dangerous for mdvement of people.
Condition of the black topped road portion from Kakching Lamkhai to Machi too is in need immediate repairing.
While inspecting these roads together, Machi village authority former chairman Dangshawa Rouwaithang Maring told media persons that the road from Heirok to Machi through Thabi Keithel is the lifeline for people inhabiting in 17 villages along the route.
People of villages like Ringpham, Maryland, Wabaching, Heinoukhong, Konaitong, Thabi Keithel, Parengtong, Biyang, Pelyang, Haikot, Tollen, Leithou, Khoibu Centre, Khongthel, Karyem, Thamlai, Khulyang, Bongli and Bongmol use this road for carrying essential items, going for farming and access educational institutions.
People inhabiting along the route face hardship in reaching Machi block headquarters due to its deplorable condition.
Tender or construction of the road from Machi to Thabi Keithel under PMGSY had been floated around a year back but construction is yet to begin till date, he said, while adding that neglecting the important road indeed is betrayal of people inhabiting along the road.
Nevertheless, Dangshawa Rouwaithang appealed to contractors concerned to start construction of the road in the interest of the people.
On the other hand, Machi village authority chairman Medarshang Mophun said that the road from Kakching Lamkhai to Machi and then to Sita, Leibi, Khudengthabi villages and finally to' Moreh is also worsening with each passing day though the road connects several villages lying under Machi block and Tengnoupal block.
This road is an important connectivity and lifeline for people inhabiting Simang, Nungtak, Gomi, Samukom, Sita, Keipham, Chelep, Kambang and other villages but the road is now unmotorable being rainy season, he said and urged government to look into condition of the road and repair it at the earliest.
