Id-ul-Fitr greetings

Imphal, July 28 2014 : Governor VK Duggal has conveyed his warmest greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethrens on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.

In his message, the Governor said, "Preceded by 'Ramadan', a month long fasting period, this Holy Festival not only spreads the message of peace, brotherhood and universal love but also entreats mankind to perform deeds of positive value to enhance our souls.

The message associated with this festival is most relevant in the present tumultuous world.'' Chief Minister O Ibobi also extended his warm greetings and good wishes to the people on the joyous occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.

A message from the CM said, ''Id-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of Ramzan, the holy month of fasting.

The festival is the celebration of the spirit of sharing and brotherhood.

May this festival strengthen our faith in oneness, compassion and tolerance and instill in us a sense of brotherhood and goodwill towards all'' .

Rajya Sabha MP Haji Abdul Salam, Lok Sabha MP Dr Thokchom Meinya, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee; Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh; Md Abdul Nasir, Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries; Md Amin Shah, Parliamentary Secretary (MOBC & SC, Science & Technology); MLA Th Shyamkumar, who is the president of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Manipur, etc have also wished the Muslims brethrens on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.
