Senior citizens meet Governor

A six member team of senior citizens met Manipur Governor V Shanmuganathan on Tuesday from 11.30 am till 2 pm and discussed the State's issues including Inner Line Permit System, Naga Peace Accord, Armed Forces Special Power's Act (AFSPA) 1958 and the problems on armed conflict.
Padmashri RK Zhaljit, former minister RV Mingthing, Dr Lokendra Arambam, Prof L Sadanda, BB Sharma and advocate Khaidem Mani represented the senior citizens team.
The Governor was told by the team that the violent incident in Churachandpur after passing the three Bills was a misunderstanding and the Bills do not violate any interests of hill people.
Government have been urging those who are against the Bills to come out and talk and the issue could be solved through a dialogue, the team told the Governor.
