Republic Day, Rani Gaidinliu birth anniv celebrated

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) celebrated the 74th Republic Day and the 108th birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu at the party's Congress Bhawan campus, here, on Thursday.
MPCC president MLA K Meghachandra hoisted the tricolour on the occasion and led the party leaders and members in offering salute to the national flag as well as in paying floral tributes to the portrait of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
CLP leader Okram Ibobi, AICC CWC member Gaikhangam, party MLAs, leaders, and workers also attended the event.
Central Agricultural University (CAU) celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India at its headquarters in Lamphelpat on Thursday.
The celebration was also organised at 13 constituent colleges of the varsity.
As part of the celebration, security personnel and students participated in the march past parade, followed by hoisting of the national flag.
Several other events were also organised by the faculty members and students Of the university.
As celebrated across the country, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal on Thursday celebrated the 74th Republic Day with director Prof H Priyoshakhi Devi hoisting the tri-colour at A-Block premises.
In a release, RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh informed that the event was attended by RIMS Hospital medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, RIMS Administration deputy director, CAO/FA, principals of Dental College, College of Nursing, Dean Academic, Heads of Departments, faculty members from Medical, Dental and College of Nursing, Administrative Officials, Nursing Officials, staff and students.
As part of the celebration, sweets were also distributed to the patients admitted in the hospital, said the release.
As in all parts of the country, the 74th Republic Day of India was also celebrated in Indo- Myanmar border town Moreh on Thursday with additional deputy commissioner (Moreh) L Bobi Singh unfurling the national flag.
The celebration held at the office premises pf Moreh ADC was also attended by additional SP O Sukumar, Mofeh police station officer in-charge Ch Anand Singh and staffers and officials of government offices located in the border town.
On the other hand, all shops in Moreh town including Ima Keithel remained closed from dawn to dusk on Thursday.
istrict administration, Tamenlong also celebrated the 74th Republic Day at Apollo ground, Tamenglong town with DC Pawan Yadav unfurling the National Flag and taking the salute from the march past contingents.
All together 29 contingents consisting of 5th MR, Manipur Police, VDF, NCC, scouts and guides and schools and college students took part in the march past parade which covered a distance of nearly 2 km from Zadonang Park till the main venue.
5th MR deputy commandant Joshia Pamei was the parade commander.
As part of the Republic Day celebration, 85 merit of credentials certificate awards were given to different departments of the district administration.
Similar celebrations were held in the sub divisional headquarters of Tamenglong district.
As a part of the celebration, sports materials were distributed to select youth clubs and schools of Tamenglong district.
