Mass vaccination drives conducted

Thoubal/Kakching, June 25 2021:
Thoubal district administration and District Health Society jointly launched a mass vaccination drive at 11 locations including three permanent vaccination centres namely Thoubal District Hospital, CHC Yairipok and Lilong CHC the district, on Friday.
Speaking to media after inspecting the vaccination centres, Thoubal district deputy commissioner Ramnangmei Rang Peter informed that the mass vaccination programme aims to ensure vaccination of all the eligible beneficiaries in the district.
He also appealed to people to get vaccinated without any hesitation.
In all 965 people were inoculated during the vaccination programme held at 11 centres on Friday.
Meanwhile, Kakching District Health Society in collaboration with Kakching Ward No 5 Covid Task Force conducted a mass vaccination programme at Kakching Turel Wangma community hall on Friday.
During the drive, 163 people were administered their first dose of Covid vaccine.
The beneficiaries included 119 people in the 18-44 age category, 31 in 45-59 age category and 13 in over 60 age category.
Accompanied by DC D Gangmei, chief medical officer Dr Thaodem Rajen, SDO Maringmei Pourallung Kabui among others, conduct of the programme was inspected by MLA M Ra-meshwar during which he also handed over a 10-litre capacity oxygen concentrator donated by Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong Board of Directors member Atul Kulkarni to the district authorities.
