State budget devoid of resource mobilization means: Chaoba

Imphal, July 23 2014: Terming the State Budget for the current financial year tabled in the ongoing State Assembly session by Chief Minister O Ibobi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, as aimless, president of BJP Manipur Pradesh Th.Chaoba observed that the budget is devoid of any mean for resource mobilization and it is focus only on expenditure.

Addressing a press meet here at its party office located at Nityapat Chuthek here on Tuesday, Chaoba said that the budget merely focused on expenditure which in turn will make poor people of the State hard to sustain, and alleged that the Congress led government in the State has been using the fund sanctioned for resource mobilization on expenditure only for the last 12 years.

He stated that there is a growing apprehension among the people over the slow rate of progress in the State which is due to the government's failure in chalking out plan to generate income.

Instead of focusing on Loktak Pat and several other assets which are all potential sources of income, the government is busy in thinking only of expenditure which is unfortunate, he asserted.

Condemning the fatal attack on a youth from Tungjoy village, Senapati district by a group of five to six persons in South Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur area in the wee hours of July 21, Chaoba informed that BJP Manipur Pradesh had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister urging them to award stringent punishment to the attackers at the earliest.

He exuded confidence that the present NDA government at the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi will take up appropriate measures to stop violence and crimes against northeast people in Delhi.
