MSF inaugurates special coaching class

The 3rd edition of special coaching class jointly organised by Imphal West and Imphal East district committees of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has been inaugurated on Sunday at Johnstone Higher Secondary School with school's vice-principal Ahanthem Shashilata Devi; All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association president Laishram Joy Khuman, and MSF general secretary Sundar Khuman attending the function as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, MSF joint secretary Harley Laishram emphasised the importance of grooming the students in order to spur growth and progress in the society.
He also suggested reformation of the education system in the state in order to address issues impeding development of the sector.
While noting that candidates make it a point to accord importance to development of the education in every elections but neglect the sector after receiving the people's mandate, the secretary pointed to government schools in various assembly segments struggling to provide even basic amenities to the students to assert his claim that the political class have no concern for the future pillars of the society.
Harley Laishram highlighted the "Let's Study Well' academic campaign of MSF, launched in February 2006, in order to encourage the students in understanding the history, territory and political status of Manipur apart from their regular academic chores.
The campaign is also a component of the federation's attempt to bring some reform in the education system, he maintained.
Informing that MSF has been organising special coaching class at free of cost for better preparation of students appear in the HSLC and HSE examinations, the secretary said formal classes under the 3rd edition of the special coaching programme for the current academic session will commence from Monday covering different subjects for class 10 and 12.He exhorted the participating students to endeavour for reaping maximum benefits from the coaching class.
