ATSUM concerned over MIT stir

Imphal, September 22 2013: Expressing concern over the dealing of Dr Th Kulachandra Singh, Principal in-charge of MIT Takyel with regard to students 'welfare for the last four to five years, All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has pointed out that this is not the first time the students have put up the issue to the higher authority.

In a statement, General Secretary of ATSUM Marahang Ngiimai said that ATSUM has received complaints way back in 2010 regarding the various problems faced by the students.

So, the manipulation of the students' welfare fund and not taking interest in the future career of the students is a clear intention of neglecting his duty by the Principal in charge as the head of the prestigious and only engineering institution of the State.

Supporting the cause of the agitating students, ATSUM suggested to the higher authority to replace the present Principal in-charge by another competent and qualified full-time principal at the earliest.

The student body has also requested all the students whose scholarship forms were rejected to contact the office of the information centre of ATSUM at New Lambulance immediately for quick redressal.
