Imphal, March 22 2018:
Shiv Sena Manipur has claimed that the ceasework strike launched by JAC of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) in connection with implementation of 7th pay for the State Government employees, is reasonable and valid.
Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena Manipur office at Babupara today, Shiv Sena State president, Moirangthem Tombi said that 7th Pay has already been implemented in some States and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also assured to implement the same in Tripura during his election campaign recently.
Claiming that the people of Manipur have to pay high prices for almost all essential commodities and products due to the State's geographical location as well as the numerous illegal taxes along the transportation routes, the party president said that implementation of 7th pay for the employees of the State is a critical necessity and Shiv Sena will fully support the stand of the JAC in this regard.
Tombi also said that a team of Shiv Sena (led by him), will go and meet various Central Government leaders during the first week of April and pressure them on the issue.
On the other hand, he also expressed desire for the State Government to strictly monitor the work ethics of its employees.
The State Govt should carry out surprise inspections to curb the widespread practices of employees failing to turn up for work, employees not performing their duties in the work place and wasting time playing cards, ludo etc, he added.
He claimed that there are numerous reports of employees bypassing the biometrics attendance register system present in most Government Department, by entering their signature early in the morning and then going off for their own personal/business matter and coming to the office to enter their signature when the office hour is almost over.
If the State Government approves, Shiv Sena will assist in exposing such unethical practices, he added.
Moirangthem Tombi informed that during the planned trip next month, the team will also meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju in connection with the establishment of National Highway Protection Force Manipur.
