'Mjaar Ksen Knik' renamed 'Olish Knik'

Traditional Lamkang women's wear 'Mjaar Ksen Knik', which was crafted and designed by Sk Khungdon Donnu Leivonnu of Thamlakhuren village in 1983, has been renamed as 'Olish Knik' in honour of Chandel MLA Ss Olish Lamkang.
In a release, Lamkang Naga Snu Lop (LNSL) stated that a memento to commemorate the renaming was presented to MLA Ss Olish Lamkang on the occasion of father's Day celebration organised by Anbilish Humane & Edu-Care Charitable Trust, a joint society of five apex women tribe organisations namely, LNSL, Tarao Chonu Jurrei (TCJ), Sirti Sanuw Ruh (SSR), Chothe Sanu Lim (CSL) and Bijuur Shanuw Ruwrkheh (BSR), at Thamlapokpi village new ground, Chandel district on June 19.LNSL had unanimously resolved to rename 'Mjaar Ksen Knik' as 'Olish Knik' on May 9 in its assembly after considering MLA Ss Olish's historic electoral triumph win with a margin of 37,066 votes and after she wore the 'Mjaar Ksen Knik' during her Oath taking Ceremony at Manipur Legislative Assembly on March 10.Later, the same resolution was approved by the other two apex bodies of the tribe, Lamkang Naga Kver Kuripun (LNKK) and Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK), it added.
The release mentioned that the event was also attended by education minister Thounaojam Basanta Singh; CAF&PD minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei; Keishamthong MLA Sapam Nishikant Singh; Manipur State Commission for Women chairperson Tiningpham Monsang and ADC Chandel caretaker chairman D Ringo Lamkang along with CSO leaders including Naga Women's Union president Asha Wungam; LNKK president Sk Moningam John; MBC mission secretary reverend Dr Sut Khan Thang, reverend Dr Katrimsha Tarao; St Peter's Parish, Monsang Pantha Chandel PP reverend father Michael Kochuparambil, Samaria Pathways Ministries founder director reverend Dr Reol Philip and St Paul's, Liwachangning PP reverend father Aloysius Seiba, among others.
