Will commence cease work strike: AMCTA

Imphal, February 21 2021: All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) announced today that a cease work strike will commence as the 7th UGC pay has not been implemented.

M Lokendro, president AMCTA said this in a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club and said the Government has given no hint of implementing the 7th UGC pay which was approved by the cabinet in August 2020 .

He said the teachers had been keeping silent on the matter in light of the COVID-19 pandemic but even as the condition of the pandemic is now improving with fewer cases reported in the last couple of weeks, the Government has failed to implement the decision which was passed in August 2020 .

The Government's call to wait for a few months can not be taken into consideration as the organisation has waited long enough, he told the press.
