Opposition parties protest Govt's 'anti-people policy'

As part of the nationwide protest against the anti-people policy of the BJP government, 11 opposition parties in the state staged a sit-in protest and put up banners inscribed with slogans for saving constitution, democracy and secularism at Nambol Congress office on Monday.
Interacting with the media at the protest venue, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president N Loken said that the financial position of the state is in dire straits under the BJP led government.
During Congress government, treasury offices and other department offices worked till late night in the last part of March every year to encash unutilised funds.
However, the present government does not have any such policy to utilise the sanctioned funds to the optimum.
In fact, the BJP government has not been able to do even one-third of the works done by Congress government despite its tall promises.
It is shameful of the BJP government to claim credit for all the works done by Congress government by renaming the projects and schemes.
It has not been able to inaugurate any of those schemes till date and it shows that the BJP government is just good for propaganda and publicity.
India will lose its identity and honour unless the duo of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah has not been uprooted from the Centre.
Under its slogan for Congress Mukt Bharat, the BJP government is suppressing the voices of all the opposition parties.
Farmers are living a life of hardships under the BJP government.
Fish farmers, paddy farmers and vegetable farmers are losing their market avenues, he said.
CPI leader Dr Moirangthem Nara accused the BJP government of working in favour of corporates and exploiting the poor ones.
BJP is implementing the wellness theory of Hitler, he said while calling upon the people to understand the situation and take a stand against BJP.
CPI Manipur state council secretary L Sotinkumar claimed that the BJP government is controlled by RSS and it is time for the public to join hands to safe democracy, constitution and secularism.
He also alleged that the BJP government is banking on Covid related schemes as a propaganda tool for elections.
He then demanded the government to take up aggressive measures to ensure full coverage of vaccination in a short time, implement centrally sponsored schemes in both urban and rural areas equally, renovate national highways with strict quality control and protect inter state as well as international borders.
He also urged the public to support the protest, which will continue till September 30.AITC convenor Dr Th In-aocha, AIFB secretary Kh Gyaneshwar, NCP president S Iboyaima.
MPCC vice-president T Mangibabu, general secretaries Devbratta and Tilotama, CPI-M secretariat member Sarat Salam, Nambol Block Congress Committee president L Lokendro and CPI-M secretariat member Kshetrimayum Shanta were also present at the protest along with representatives from MPP, RSP, JD-S and BSP.
