ADRA India distributes water disinfection kit to flood victims

Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) India in collaboration with Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) distributed Water Disinfection kit to the recent flood affected villagers at CWG Office located at Lhunnajang Village in Chandel District on Wednesday.
Under the project Manipur Flood Response 2015, a Water Disinfection Kit of 20 litres capacity Bucket; a one litre mug and 6 strips of 75 mg Purifast tablets each to the flood affected families of different communities from Chandel and Thoubal District.
Rev Henjalen Doungel, Pastor KBC Centre Church of Molnoi Area and Gladwin Bol, Emergency Response Coordinator of ADRA India and other Staff of ADRA also took part in the distribution programme.
Speaking to the media persons, Hechin Haokip, District Co-ordinator ADRA Chandel who is also the Secretary of CWG told that the water disinfection kit was distributed to the flood affected families of both Chandel and Thoubal District in response to the recent flood.
The items were distributed after conducting necessary field assessment, coordinating with other NGOs and receiving inputs from concern District Administration, She added.
Hechin Haokip further maintained that so far, the organization provided a sum of Rs.1000 each in Cash as a financial assistance to 500 flood affected families of Chandel and some pocket of Thoubal District.
And the Water Disinfection kit will be provided to 1000 flood affected households from both Chandel and Thoubal District, added the District Coordinator.
The coordination also assured to provide relief assistance for the families affected by the recent landslide in Chandel District in the near future.
