Dingko surrenders, apologizes

Imphal, January 17 2014 : Boxing Coach Ngangom Dingko, who has been accused of brutally assaulting a woman weightlifter at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex on Jan 13, was arrested by police after he surrendered himself at Imphal PS today.

Acting on the complaint of the victim's mother, Imphal Police Station registered an FIR and searched for the accused Dingko at all suspected places.

He could not be found till late evening.

However, he turned up at Imphal Police Station and surrendered himself.

Dingko was formally arrested by the police in connection with the assault case.

Meanwhile, Boxing Coach of SAI, SAG Ngangom Dingko Singh, in a press statement, has regretted and apologized to the woman weightlifter whom he had thrashed black and blue at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in the evening of January 13 .
