Assam Rifles provides succor to widows

The 26 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR(S) has been at the forefront in conducting numerous people friendly events, providing succor to widows in the remote areas of Chandel district.
In yet another focused initiative, 26 Sector Assam Rifles has taken a noble pledge to help a widows' organization functioning at Pallel on September 14 .
In statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S) said the widows who were making bamboo handicrafts, were difficult on finding to make their end products.
Sensing the urgency, Assam Rifles, swung into action and chalked out a road map for their improved sustenance.
Speaking to the widows, Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber, Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles highlighted the need for them to go commercial and diversify, given the immense talent that existed.
Promotion and sale of the handicrafts produce was taken on by the Assam Rifles towards increasing their revenue generation.
To kick start the initiative, a suitable outlet for selling the products in an organized manner is being provided.
In addition, other projects to include Honey Bee Farming and Green House Projects are also being explored with the singular objective of alleviating the hardships of these widows.
