Educational institutes out of UNC bandh

Imphal, June 14 2014 : United Naga Council has stated that educational institution shall be exempted from the purview of the proposed 48-hour Bandh in Naga areas from the midnight of 16th June till midnight of 18th June.

A release of the Publicity Wing of UNC said the Bandh is being called to protest against the alleged unabated communal actions and policies of the Government of Manipur and also to urge the Government of India to expedite its intervention for an alternative arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur.

Soliciting the cooperation and goodwill of general public towards making the protest peaceful and non-violent, UNC appeals to All Naga tribe Hohos and Regional Organisations to take up appropriate steps in their respective jurisdictions for making the Bandh effective.
