Imphal, January 13 2021: Assam Rifles organised an interactive security meeting with locals at Aishi, Nampisha, Phaikoh, Kamtong and Chattrik Khunao villages in Kamjong district today.

The interaction programme was organised in order to maintain security, peace and stability in the run up to the Republic Day and was attended by village headmen, local club members and village welfare authorities from 14 villages in the district, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The aim of the interaction was to sensitise the locals regarding the current security situation and to improve the synergy between locals and Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region, added the statement.

The attending locals assured their commitment and assistance in maintaining the same and also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Assam Rifles for reaching out to them, added the statement.

Similar programmes were also held at Nambol and Litan with village headmen, local club members and representatives from Manipur Police in attendance, added the statement.
