Imphal, November 12 2015: Farmers' Field Day on Fish was organized by Khabi Bamdiar Ideal Fish Farmers' Club, Khabi at Khabam Bamdiar today under the sponsorship of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal West.

According to a statement, the Farmers' Club is being sponsored by NABARD, Manipur and financed by Manipur Rural Bank, Nambol Branch.

Attending the programme as the chief guest, Kamei Chingdinliu Rongmei, Pradhan, Konthoujam Gram Panchayat appreciated the Club for their endeavour in organising farmers' field day and making fresh fish available for Ningol Chakkouba.

In his presidential address, Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Principal Scientist (Seed Tech) and Joint Director i/c stressed that such activity should be taken up on a larger scale next year.

Delivering a speech as the guest of honour, N Guite, Deputy General Manager, NABARD assured that the progressive farmers would be sponsored for exposure visit outside Manipur.

Dr Ch Basudha Devi, Sr Scientist (Fishery) , RK Yaifaba Meitei, Asst General Manager, NABARD and Kh Baleshwar Singh, Asst Branch Manager, Manipur Rural Bank, Nambol Branch also attended as the dais members.

About 700 kgs of Common Carp, 200 kgs of Ngaton, 300 kgs of Rohu, 500 kgs of Grass Carp and 200 kgs of Bao were sold.
