Asha Gi Mangal: 50 students to pursue IIT in Delhi

Imphal, October 12 2015: Education (S) Director N Praveen has said the Government has already selected 50 talented students who will pursue IIT training in New Delhi under the ambitious scheme "Asha Gi Mangal" .

Praveen was speaking on the occasion of Annual Freshers' Meet 2015 of TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal at the institute's campus on Monday.

He added that out of the 50 selected students, 27 are from Government schools and among them 13 are from TG Higher Secondary School alone.

Praveen said under the Government's Asha Gi Mangal scheme, bright students will also chosen for taking part in medical coaching at TG Higher Secondary School and Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Imphal.

Not only this, he said, there is a cultural festival Kala Usav at the national level.

Students have the chance to participate in this mega event and win cash prizes.

Sagolband constituency MLA RK Imo, Khangabok constituency MLA O Landhoni Devi and TG Higher Secondary School Principal L Biren were also present during the function.
