Yaiskul AC candidates share their thoughts on fighting assembly election

Candidates contesting the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Yaiskul assembly constituency shared their views and thoughts when The People's Chronicle put up a set of three questions to them.
The main reason for contesting election, the first work to be executed after getting elected and their vision for the state are the three questions put to each of the candidates.
Five candidates are in fray in the constituency for the upcoming election.
They are Thounaojam Brinda of JDU, Huidrom Vikramjit of NPP, Thokchom Satyabrata of BJP, Ningombam Helendro of INC and RK Suraj of Shiv Sena.
Barring NPP candidate Huidrom Vikramjit, four candidates of the constituency responded to the queries and shared their varied views.
In her reply, Brinda said that election will decide fate of the people for five years and accordingly contested election.
She also vowed to deliver people their legitimate rights including food, health, housing, sanitation, education, water, clean environment, energy and the right to life.
On the third question, Brinda said she will make Manipur a role model for good governance and participative democracy.
In his reply to the set of questions, Thokchom Satyabrata said the present generation needs to handover a good and bright society to future generation and contested election to have a peaceful and developed society in Manipur.
On the second question, he vowed to give emphasis on development works to make the constituency a leading one in the state while for the third, he pledged to transform Manipur into the capital of sports, culture and other sectors though India's capital is New Delhi.
INC candidate Ningombam Helendro said he decided to contest election as he was dissatisfied in serving people as a simple person.
On the second question, he replied that there are many jobless people in Yaiskul AC though it lies in urban area and this is root cause of many problems.
He then vowed to take up human resource development and manpower planning as first project to solve these problems.
On his vision for the state, Helendro said making Manipur self-sufficient through proper utilisation of human resources and establishing agro-based industries would be accorded top priority, if elected.
In his reply to the first question, Shiv Sena candidate Rajkumar Suraj said Manipur is entirely depended on the Centre and wants to bring a change and accordingly contested election.
He also vowed to give special emphasis towards improvement of economy of every people of the constituency and put more effort in education and IT sector to provide livelihood for youth.
On the third question, Suraj said state's revenue will be enhanced naturally when mass employment is given and hence will give special emphasis on employment generation.
NPP candidate Huidrom Vikramjit could not be contacted when this daily tried to get his views and thoughts on the set of questions.
