Inner Manipur MP, Dr Thokchom Meinya has on Saturday deeply condoled the sad sudden demise of noted writer and lyricist B Jayantakumar Sharma.
The MP recalled the contribution of B Jayantakumar Sharma to the modern Manipuri songs and socio political consciousness that came about in mid-twentieth century in Manipur.
The MP has also shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family, and has further prayed that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace in Heaven.
Many sections of people and organisations also continue to pour in their condolence messages on the death of Jayanatakumar Sharma.
Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei kanglup (AMMIK) and the Rupmahal Theatre have grieved the death of noted writer and lyricist B Jayantakumar Sharma.
The theatre group held a condolence meeting and paid homage to the late writer.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul, according to a release.
It said the theatre group shares the sorrow of the bereaved family.
The International Meeteis Forum (IMF) also mourned the death of B Jayantakumar.

Saying that the forum has great respect for the late writer, it mentioned some of the popular and evergreen Manipuri patriotic and romantic songs written by B Jayantakumar: "Khomglang Laman Shingamloi Ima," Sana Leibak Manipur," "Ho Ima Poknapham Ima, Nanggumbi Leite Ima" and "Shonba Kanba Laira Inak Khunba," "Kru Kru Kru Khongli Lamkhunu" and "Haada Samaton Ayangba" .
On the passing of B Jayantakumar, Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Irilbung held a condolence meeting chaired by Guru G Gourakishwor Sharma at the association hall.
All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and Eshei Mayek Ebashing Lup (EMEL), Kangleipak too grieved the untimely demise of B Jayantakumar.
