Kangpokpi, November 10 2014:
The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills and Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills today demanded clarification from PHED Kangpokpi Executive Engineer Ningombam Gambhir Singh concerning a notice issued by him.
KISH General Secretary N.Sehjalien Gangte said PHED Kangpokpi EE had issued an order published in several local dailies stating that 86 villages in Kangpokpi and 82 villages in Saikul while 28 villages in Saitu are 'unfounded villages' .
However, all the villages mentioned in the EE notification are enjoying the governments provided benefits and schemes including MGNREGA, etc.
Gangte continued before adding that the PHED Kangpokpi officials personally with the ADC officials along with leaders of Sadar Hills CSOs visited some of the villages mentioned in the notice for Sanitation drive under Swachh Bharat Mission recently.
Gangte further lamented that we are not against the invitation but we are sturdily defying the 'Unfounded' word used by the unqualified and irresponsible EE.
How can he said those genuinely existed villages unfounded wondered Gangte, who asked "Is the EE have been politicized or have some hidden agenda behind the notification"? .
The CSOs within Sadar Hills want collective development not individual development asserted Gangte while adding that collective development needs 'consultation' with the local self government bodies which is the key to success that most of the department with Sadar Hills like the PHED Kangpokpi recurrently avoided it.
The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills with KWU and KSO Sadar Hills including others CSOs will never endure any attitudes for alarming the peaceful existence of the area and its people Gangte cautioned.
A visibly discontented Gangte terming the EE as 'untutored officer" continued that the notice could breed misunderstanding and problems between the denizens of Sadar Hills and the Government machineries.
Setting a week's time for the EE to clarify Gangte cautioned and held responsible the EE for any issue yielding out of the notification if he fails to clarify within the stipulated time.
KSO Sadar Hills and KWU Sadar Hills also voiced the same frame of mind regarding the issue and vowed to hunt stringent action against the EE if found issuing the notice intentionally to create unsolicited atmosphere.
