Tangkhul YouTube News Channel office opened

The new office of The Tangkhul Express, a YouTube News Channel, at Phungreitang West in the town has been opened on Friday.
The inauguration function was attended by Babina Group of Companies chairman & managing director Dr Dhabali Thangjam as chief guest, while TTE advisor and social activist Ashang Kasar, Ecological Rehabilitators' Association (ERA) president Michael Shaiza and MSPDCL Ukhrul manager Sothing Kashung were the guest of honour and special guests respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhabali noted that the advancement of information technology in the past few decades has changed the way the media and the news industry operate.
He said that the digital advancement is now offering a promising prospect for the electronics media.
He said that digital advancement has made things much easier today for the electronics media firms to set up and get running in a much shorter time, unlike print media which require the whole gamut of printing machines, paper and hawkers for distribution.
Dr Dhabali then wished the YouTube News channel grows into a full-fledged news channel in the coming years.
Ashang Kasar stressed on the need for media to disseminate the factual information to the public and inform the public, especially villagers in remote areas, about different government schemes and their benefits.
He also said that media play a significant role in ensuring peace and harmony among the people, while adding that media need to be proactive in highlighting the truth in order to bring equal development in the state.
In his speech, Michael Shaiza called media as the watchdog of the society and added that the importance of media can't be undermined.
According to Shaiza, the media must strictly adhere to ethics of journalism and must never overlook the essence of truth, fairness, objectivity in their functioning.
Giving a welcome address, co-founder of TTE Gilchrist Vashum acknowledged the public support and anticipated the same public response to their endeavour in future.
Tangkhul Naga Film Association president Chingya Chawung and Tangkhul Leihsak Long president Peacemoon Zimik also exhorted the TTE team for its initiative in reaching outto the denizens of the district with daily news updates.
