31 fresh Covid-19 cases detected

Imphal, August 09 2022:
With the detection of 31 fresh Covid cases, out of 456 samples tested on Tuesday, the number of active cases in the state now stands at 233, out of which 228 are from general population and five from central security personnel.
The test positivity rate for the day was recorded at 6.8 per cent.
Out of 31 new cases (17 males & 14 females), eight are from Churachandpur, seven from Imphal West, five from Imphal East, three each from Thoubal and Ukhrul, two from Bishnupur and one each from Kakching, Kangpokpi and Pherzawl districts.
In all 42 people recovered on Tuesday from home isola tion (28), RIMS (four), JNIMS (two) and eight from SHRI while 29 out of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS are vacant and 43 out of 62 Covid beds remain vacant in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 2,163 positive cases and 18 deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 334 new positive cases and nine fatalities.
A total of 29 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities on Monday, while 1,586 vaccine doses were administered, thus taking the cumulative number of vaccinated pop ulation to 31,34,410, out of which, 16,22,317 had been administered first dose, 12,92,633 second dose and 2,19,460 had received pre cautionary doses.
