JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO demands salary on same day

Imphal, June 09 2022: The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has reportedly urged the special secretary (finance) to initiate relevant process for disbursement of salaries to employees of all departments on the same day.

In a meeting held on Thursday, the special secretary took note of grievances faced by state government employees and assured of positive results, said a release by JAC publicity secretary Banabanta Ngangom.

It also informed that a series of meetings with head of departments were held during which the JAC highlighted issues related to the handing over of Pension Book/PPO on the date of retirement stating that late commencement of pension process leads to delay in issuance of PPO to pensioners.

The council also requested head of departments to issue 'termination' order six months prior to the date of retirement so that the pension process can be started earlier and PPO be given on the day of retirement.

The release further said that head of departments were informed of missing credit regarding GPF of employees.

"It not only hinders timely management of personal problems but also demoralises the employees", said the release by JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO.

The heads assured that they would look into the matter ana advice sections concerned to handle the matter at the earliest, it added.

The meeting also touched upon the implementation of new pension scheme, National Pension Scheme and reinstating the Old Pension Scheme as the older one was more feasible than the new one.
