Outlet in Dimapur to sell Manipur products

An outlet named 'Farm Basket' to sell Manipur-origin products exclusively has been opened in Dimapur, Nagaland's commercial town, on Saturday.
'Farm Basket' is being operated by Chak hao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Limited, Imphal West and the outlet was opened at Super Market, Kohima Road, Dimapur.
Nagaland's retired joint director (agriculture) Kiyevi Aye Marchang and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) agriculture assistant project officer Kh Nimaichand jointly inaugurated the outlet.
According to company chairman Chongtham Shanta, Chak-hao, rice, ginger, turmeric, king chilli, Kiwi, passion fruit, pineapple and other products produced by Farmers producers' companies of Manipur under MOVCDNER will be made available at the outlet.
He also said that 'Farm Basket' will provide whole-sale opportunity to local traders and expressed happiness over receiving orders from four buyers from Dimapur for purchasing Manipuri rice at wholesale rate.
Kiyevi Aye expressed elation that 'Farm Basket' will make available Manipuri rice, vegetables and fruits to the people of Nagaland and prayed to the almighty God for success of the organic outlet.
In his speech at the launch event, Kh Nimaichand said that opening of 'Farm Basket' outlet in Dimapur will not only serve as transit point for Manipur origin products but also help in improving marketing facility for farmers producers' companies of Manipur.
