Imphal, January 09 2025:
While stating that the conflict in the state isn't driven by the demand for inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in the ST list, the Manipur State Council/Communist Party of India (MSC/CPl) claimed that the failure to resolve the conflict is the result of a hidden agenda.
In a release, MSC/CPl assistant Joykumar appealed to responsible persons of the state not to make irresponsible statements.
Even though the people of the state long for peace and an end to the conflict, the double engine BJP government are hell bent on prolonging it, he alleged, reasoning that non-convening of parliament session on Manipur issue is proof of a secret agenda.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is yet to visit Manipur amid the ongoing conflict, even as he took time to express sympathy for the death of a monkey and not for hundreds of lives lost in the state," he added.
