2532 kg Ganja disposed, liquor seized

Imphal, June 08 2022: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Customs Divisions Imphal observed Drug Destruction Day and disposed 2532 kg of seized Ganja at M/S HBM Brick Field industry located at Kanto Sabal by burning then on Wednesday.

The destruction was carried out under the supervision of High Level Drug Disposal Committee, Customs Division, Imphal of which CGST joint commissioner L Prabhunanda Singh is the chairman while DRI, Imphal deputy director Rajivkumar Yengkhom, Customs Division, Imphal assistant commissioner HL Songate, Customs Division, Imphal superintendent (Anti-smuggling) T Ruivah, Customs Division and Imphal superintendent (disposal) Heikham Gautam are the members.

The destruction of seized ganja ended at 5 pm.

Meanwhile, a team of Bishnupur district police commando unit seized a large quantity of IMFL and DIC liquor from one Khumanthem Inaotomba Singh (49), son of (L) Kh Daballo Singh of Nambol Sabal Leikai, who is the owner of 'Top Meat Hotel' located at Nambol Sabal Leikai.

According to police report, the items seized on Wednesday around 5 pm consisted of three McDowell (750 ml) bottles, two Blenders Pride (750 ml) bottles, 16 Tuborg can beer (500 ml), 118 DIC liquor (1 litre) bottles, 135 DIC liquor (500 ml) bottles and 300 empty bottles.

The confiscated items and the owner have been handed over to Nambol Excise Department for necessary action.
