Governor extends fund for ambulance to IRCS Senapati

As assured in an earlier meeting for providing well-equipped ambulance in hill districts, Governor Anusuiya Uikey handed over financial assistance for purchase of ambulance to be operated in hill districts to IRCS Senapati district branch secretary Daniel on Wednesday.
In release PRO Raj EIhavan informed that the Governor handed over the financial assistance to the Indian Red Cross Society Senapati district branch secretary and its members at Raj Bhavan, here.
The IRCS team, while expressing gratitude to Governor for such initiative, briefed her on continuous humanitarian services rendered by the team for residents of relief camps and also victims of the recent hailstorms in the state.
Governor encouraged IRCS, Senapati to continue their selfless services for those in distress, it added.
The release also stated that Medecins Sans Frontieres chief of operations Swaoan Kachop along with two others called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and highlighted their continuous services of providing humanitarian medical care for the people in Manipur since 2005 .
Also known as 'Doctors without Borders', they provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare and their actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality, it maintained.
They also mentioned their services for the ethnic violence affected displaced people in relief camps and highlighted challenges faced in transportation of medical supplies to different parts of the state post the ethnic clash that started in May 3 last year.
The Governor appreciated their noble services for the sick and needy people in the state and assured assistance from her office whenever need arises.
Manipur University registrar W Chandbabu Singh, Commerce HOD N Tejmani Singh, professor Robita Sorokhaibam and IQAC director A Rajmani Singh also called on the Manipur Governor on Wednesday evening and extended invitation to her to attend the upcoming International conference at Manipur University.
