After tolerating the hair-raising dust for almost a year, the BILP is all set to begin the road construction work in Kangpokpi DHQs within 2/3 days following the appeal on the part of Kangpokpi local bodies.
Taking into account the intolerable grievances of the people due to the heavy dust produced by the passing vehicles, the Kangpokpi Town Committee sought immediate attention of the BIPL and the District Administration to give priority in the construction of the road to the District Headquarters.
The BIPL personnel led by one site engineer inspected the road within Kangpokpi DHQs this morning along with Paominthang Doungel, EO (Town), SHADC Kangpokpi and Kangpokpi Town Committee members including its Chairman and secretary and later agreed to begin the construction work within 2-3 days.
According to the BIPL, the road will be expanded seven meters each on both sides of the road (approximately 23 feet each) while two feet wide drain will be constructed along the road.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Town Committee also instructed the public of Kangpokpi DHQs including business establishment owners and people residing near the road to cooperate and render utmost support to BIPL officials and workers for quick completion of the road construction.
The Kangpokpi Town Committee along with the local civil bodies also committed to ensure and extend all possible cooperation to the BIPL officials and workers in quest for early completion of the road construction work within the District Headquarters.
