Imphal, December 07 2014: A team of Bishnupur District Commandoes nabbed the Chairman of the banned revolutionary group KCP (MTF) on December 3 in a search operation at Leimapokpam Village under Bishenpur District, claimed a release from the Manipur Police Department.

It said that the arrested has been identified as Yumnam Shantikumar Singh @ Kiran @ Raja, aged 37yrs, S/O Y Shyamjai of Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai.

In a follow-up investigation of the arrest, another team of commandoes on the same day apprehended another member of the same group who has been identified as Oinam Gobind @ Poirei aged 28 yrs, S/O O Angou from Waheng Khuman Mayai Leikai in a search operation at his local area.

A 9mm pistol along with two live rounds of ammunition were seized from his possession.

A case had been registered at the Nambol Police Station, the release said.

Further, a combined team of Bishenpur District commandoes along with 6 AR apprehended an active member of the PLA revolutionary group who has been identified as Naorem Sanatomba Singh @ Prakash, aged 32 yrs, S/O N Ibocha Singh of Ningthoukhong Kha Leikai, Ward No 6 upon which a case had been registered following the arrest, stated the release.

Meanwhile, in another incident on the same day a team of I/W Commandoes also had arrested a member of the revolutionary group of PREPAK (PRO) who has been identified as Takhellambam Yaiphaba Meitei, aged 35 yrs, S/O T Muhindro Kongba Lasihram Leikai from the Kangla Northern Gate.

A Chinese hand-grenade with a handset along with some incriminating articles had been recovered from him.

A case had been registered against him, reported the release.
