JAC Against Petrol Bombing, Yairipok in a statement has appealed to the State Government to take up immediate steps and pull up the individual(s) involved in the petrol bombing incident at Heingang Ahallup on March 22 .
The statement said that supporters of the general strike imposed with regard to the death of Md Lukaman of Moijing had apparently hurled petrol bombs and pelted stones on passengers travelling on a Tata Winger in front of Tulihal Azad High School in Heingang Ahallup after the general strike was reportedly over.
Stating that even sick patients and religious activities were not exempted from the bandh by the supporters, the statement said that such act can cause misunderstanding among different communities who have been living in harmony for many years.
The JAC said that Andro Constituency MLA Th Shyamkumar had earlier assured to pull up the involved individual(s) within three days.
However, not a single individual has been pulled up till date.
Failure to put his words into action is unfortunate.
People irrespective of caste, creed should work for good cause with humanity and respect, the JAC said.
The statement urged the State Government to inititiate stringent action so that such act, which can create communal disharmony in the State, does not recur.
