Imphal, January 07 2022:
Condemning the BJYM team led by its president Barish Sharma for their actions in front of Congress Bhawan on Friday evening, Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai said that resorting to violent means cannot subdue or defeat Congress party in the election.
While inaugurating a community hall of Tera Sapam Leirak, Nongmaithem Leikai, constructed under MLA local area development fund on Saturday, Mirabai termed the violent action of BJYM as unethical and irresponsible.
BJP should give up the idea of using violent means to win the election as it will not succeed.
People of the state have strong support for Congress party, she said.
The government uses its power to arrest civilians for simply criticising the government on social media but the same government is remaining silent over the violence carried out by BJYM, Mirabai said.
She dared the government to take up appropriate action against those involved in the incident if the government truly stands for the truth.
While listing development initiatives she has taken up in the constituency in the last 10 years, the MLA said that nobody can give full satisfaction to the public but she will do her best to bring development in the constituency.
She has the target of covering the whole Patsoi AC in household tap water connection by December but she could not meet the target due to the government's policy.
She also denied politicising NFSA card distribution.
Youth Bright Star Club president N Apabi presided over the function which was also attended by Patsoi Block Congress Committee president L Kumar, Nongmaithem Leikai Shinglup president N Premkumar, general secretary I Kameshwar, pradhans and ZP members of different GPs and ZPs under Patsoi AC .
