Well prepared to implement HEP: Minister Rajen

Education minister S Rajen Singh has said that government is well prepared for the successful implementation of National Education Policy 2020(NEP) in the state.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of newly constructed school classrooms of Laphupat Tera High School (Govt aided) in Imphal West on Wednesday, the minister opined that under the initiative of School Fagathansi Mission, education system in the state has improved and the number of school dropouts has decreased significantly.
Rajen declared that the government will soon upgrade Laphupat Tera High School to a full-fledged government high school.
There has been development in many spheres during the regime of the present government, even in education sector, he pointed out.
While noting that majority of the state's families cannot afford education of their children in private schools, Rajen contended that students no longer need to go to private schools since the government schools are almost a par with private ones.
He also stressed that the school management committees need to be well equipped and empowered.
Stating that teachers in government schools are well qualified in comparison to private institutions, he opined that the only thing missing among the government school teachers is dedicated discharge of service.
Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy speaker K Robindro Singh attended the function as president while Laphupat Tera Komlakhong GP pradhan N Basanta Singh was the guest of honour.
