Imphal, September 06 2024:
Expressing serious concern over the recent attacks using drones by Kuki militants, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary Pangeijam Saratchandra has asked the Central government to take up necessary steps and prevent Manipur from becoming a desolated land.
Addressing the media at his Heingang residence on Thursday, Saratchandra said that the recent drone bombing in Koutruk, Kadangband and Senjam Chirang villages should not be taken lightly as the Kukis in pursuance of a specific campaign are likely to resort to using even more lethal weapons.
In case such apprehension becomes a reality, then it would difficult for the government to handle, he cautioned and demanded the government for in-depth investigation into the recent drone bombing and take up appropriate legal actions.
In the history of the world, every war was resolved through dialogue and agreements.
Unfortunately, the crisis in the state has been continuing for nearly one and half year and yet there is neither solution nor attempt to effectively restore normalcy.
Eyen more disturbing is the silence of the Prime Minister, as it is obvious that peace would prevail in the state the day the Prime Minister have some semblance of sentiment for the state and its people, Saratchandra opined and stated that it is time to approach Nobel peace prize winners to seek their help in drawing attention of the Prime Minister towards the state.
He also suggested seeking help from UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Bhai Patel and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to prevail upon the PM.
On the other hand, it is heartening to learn about the DGP's remarks of shooting down drones if such attacks occur in future, though it is questionable how can they know when and where such attacks will occur.
