Documents of Wangoo Police Station lost in flood

Many official documents of Wangoo Police Station have been lost in the recent flood due to the incessant rain in Manipur while the police personnel of the station have been taking shelter on the road.
The police station has 20 Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel, one Inspector, one Sub-Inspector (SI), one Havildar and 18 sepoys.
In spite of that, they could not remove all the documents and their personal belongings since the flood occurred suddenly at around 2 am on August 1.All official documents which are kept locked inside trunk were also washed away in the flood, said Inspector ofwangoo Police Station K Ranjit.
The Inspector added that only one uniform and one half pants were saved by the personnel for their daily use while some documents were retrieved.
They have been reeling under hardships since the personnel also have to help and rescue affected villagers, said the inspector.
While many villagers are still taking shelter on roads, the inspector also added that scarcity of drinking water has worsened their horrific life.The personnel have been continuously rescuing villagers even though they were also affected by the flood.
Two teams of CDPO came and provided us food but they might not have any idea that we even don't have any plates to eat, said the inspector.
Meanwhile, Principal Secretary has deployed one State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) team and they have been rescuing flood victims since August 1 under the team leadership of Thangjapu Vaiphei.
One boat each have already deployed at Wangoo Maning Leikai and Mamang Leikai.
