AC Rinsing, a talented filmmaker hailing from Ringui village in Ukhrul district, has been selected to represent Manipur at the prestigious 2024 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea.
His film 'Samkhok', which delves into the cultural depths of Tangkhul community, has earned a coveted spot at the festival, taking place from October 2 to 11 .
Selected by the ministry of information and broadcasting, 'Samkhok' presents an evocative portrayal of Tangkhul traditions.
The film tells the compelling story of a clan chief and his family as they prepare for the Maran Kasa, a significant cultural event known as the Feast of Merit.
Interwoven with this tradition is the chief's personal journey of grief and vengeance following the loss of his son, painting a rich fabric of love, loss, and identity.
