CNPO suspends stir, DBE to be reviewed

Following an understanding reached between the agitating CNPO and Chandel ZEO during a meeting convened by Chandel ADC Member L Kashung on Friday, CNPO has suspended the agitation of keeping the office of the ZEO shut down with immediate effect from today.
The meeting held at the ADC office chamber here was attended by a team of CNPO led by its President Ws Kanral Anal.
On the other hand, Chandel ZEO F Lalzuithangi led the official team that included the District Coordinator in the meeting.
Briefing about the meeting and the resolutions adopted to the media here, publicity and information secretary John Chothe said that the meeting resolved to review and form the District Board of Education (DBE) on or before July 21. Accordingly, all district coordinators must furnished detailed reports of all projects and schemes taken up in the last 5 years to the CNPO on or before July 25.The meeting also resolved to reshuffle all district coordinators on or before the ending of this month and submit the appointment orders of the new district coordinators to the CNPO.
While appealing to the ZEO and other officials concerned for translation of the resolutions into action, John Chothe categorically stated that ZEO will be held responsible for any eventuality over the failure of implementing the resolutions.
Meanwhile, CNPO has demanded a non-Manipuri or a non-local IAS officer be posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel to succeed the incumbent DC.
Issuing a statement in this regard, CNPO maintained that the people of Chandel have experienced the good wisdom of a Manipuri IAS officer during the last three years in the person of Th Chittaranjan Singh, IAS; and now the people of Chandel would like to be led by a non Manipuri IAS officer.
