NWUC celebrates first anniversary

Imphal, July 05 2013 : The first foundation day of Naga Women's Union, Chandel (NWUC) was celebrated at Changning Cultural Hall, Chandel today.

The celebration which was held under the theme "Strengthening Fraternity in the New Millennium" was attended by Aram Pamei, President of Naga Women's Union; Ningwonla, wife of Nunghlung Victor, MLA of Chandel A/C; Dr Jina, former President of NWUC and K Sakhila, President of NWUC as Presidium members.

The celebration was marked by presentation of gifts to those people working for the welfare of Naga community.

Traditional songs and dances by women of Monshang, Chothe, Lamkang, Moyon, Tarao, Anal and Maring tribes were also performed on the occasion.

In her address, Aram Pamei stated that women play a great role in bringing about peace and development in the society.

So, it is the women who have to bring forward discipline and work culture among the Nagas.
