Imphal, November 04 2024:
Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) has stated that continued misunderstandings amongst the people is hindering objective for vibrant and united Manipur.
In a press release issued by its Media & Publicity secretary N Gobind Meetei, CCSK said Manipur has been and will be inhabited by numerous communities in the future.
One needs to understand this fact and also understand that self-vested interests cannot help in the development of the state, as has been stated by various intellectuals and experts.
"At present, we are in the shadows, devoid of peace and stability.
All the communities are suffering in the chaos created by one community to fulfil its wishes.
The situation is out of control and it will take years before normalcy could return.
Thus, there is a need for all to remain vigilant against those trying to sow discord and hatred between the communities," it asserted.
The Committee continued that various incidents have occurred between different communities since May 3 last year, some of which had the potential to go out of control.
Even now, such incidents are happening and as such, all must work together to prevent any animosity and promote joint development instead.
It further said that it is the duty of the government to show that the rule of law exists instead of enforcing the law in some places and relaxing the same elsewhere.
Amid this, there are some people who are intentionally trying to cause chaos, while taking the law in their hands.
Thus, CCSK condemned the recent assault of two individuals from another community, terming it unfortunate and ill-intentioned.
Pointing out the sensitiveness of present times, the Committee warned that failing to discern a friend from foe could lead to disastrous consequences.
It would also be wrong to take a decision solely based on revenge.
Every human in this world is different from one another.
If the idea that the other person must think the same as us, then the society and the world, as we know it, would fall apart.
Thus, leaders must try to prevent this scenario and lead their followers into the right path, CCSK stated and urged all concerned not to repeat such acts and give face to each community, while working together for a better future.
